It might not be Paris but Nice is an absolute glamorous place to visit with beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean coast. Famously known as the second largest tourist destination in the country, Nice has plenty of things to offer to the visitors. Other than the beaches, it is also filled with tons of scenery, breathtaking hilltop lookouts and restaurants! As you sip your cocktails and sunbathing on the para-soled terraces, you’ll notice roller-bladers cruising the curved of Baie des Anges. Nice is a definitely a nice place to visit!
Tips on Money Saving
Let’s leave all of the paid activities and enjoy the free sights including the beaches, the city’s central park, Jardin Albert I, Viieux Nice, and the Promenade des Anglais. At nights, these places get filled up with street performers and you’ll get to listen to their music for free! A glass of beer can cost you up to USD11 and we believe that this is expensive. Our suggestion is to stick to drinking wine whenever you’re eating out. But if you insist on drinking beer, you can buy them at the local supermarkets to be enjoyed at the hotel or hostels before heading to the restaurant. If you’re worried that prices will be doubled, do not visit Nice during summer. The reason is obvious actually. People tend to flock the beaches and you don’t want to end up spending too much money.
Top Things To Do
Cours Saleya Flower Market – Beautiful flowers can be found anywhere in Nice and Cours Saleya Flower Market is actually a “must-visit” place where you get to find shops, cafes, and aisles of fresh flowers! The market is open everyday except on Monday. This is because on this day an antique market and flea is taking place there.(image by Striderv)
Promenade des Anglais – This is actually a very popular location where people can be seen walking, jogging, biking and rollerblading, and tourists relaxing along the shore. Street vendors in the background, selling fresh-made crepes, add to the lively environment of the place and the restaurants on the beach that can be paid for them to bring you food and drink.
The Nice Port – Although it is often forgotten by visitors, we’d like to suggest you to visit the Nice Port because it’s worth venturing to. If you would like to watch the Corsica ferries lift off or would like to check out one of the hippest nightclubs, the port is definitely the place for you to visit.
Vieux Nice – It is considered as the “old town” of Nice, and just below the hill of the city lies tight alleyways and a maze of streets which are all lined with fascinating architecture. You can also find boutiques in Vieux Nice as well.(image by New York Habitat)
Nice is a perfect place to enjoy a relaxing vacation and definitely a good choice for solo travelers, couples, families or a group of friends. Because of its laid-back nature, we believe that anyone who would like to escape major cities should choose Nice as the place to visit. The best part of this is you can easily make a day trip to Monaco by catching either the bus or train between the cities, and spend your day exploring the chic restaurant lining the water, yacht culture and the casinos.
