The humongous island of Canada is at times greatly ignored by some people. Little do they realize is that it is just as big and varied as its southern neighbor the United States. Canada is the home of some of the world’s largest rivers, long waterfalls, radiant glaciers and gorgeous lakes. At present, the country has turned into the ultimate travel destination for people who are looking for adventure and relaxation.
Every Canadian city has something to offer for everyone and these five cities have that certain Canadian touch.
The city of Ottawa is the capital city of the Great White North and is the home of Canada’s significant artifacts, landmarks and buildings that are part of history. This metropolitan city is so big that it is often mistaken by many people, especially by first time tourists and visitors, as the nation’s capital. It has a wide variety of tall buildings, great restaurants that serve the most delicious food, historical museums, landmarks and a skyline that, if you get in on it, provides you with a 360 degree view of the entire city. It also has a beautiful coastal area where people can bask under the hot sun. It is a very clean city, making it one of the most environmental-friendly cities in the world (image by Maurizio Peddis).
The city of Montreal is not far from cities like Toronto and Ottawa. If you’re an American living in the state of New York, a drive from Albany and through the Canadian border is all you need to do to go to this magnificent city, where it has its very own Notre Dame cathedral. This city is old world – quiet, quaint and charming. And it is the perfect vacation spot for tourists who are fond of all things traditional. It is also in Montreal where you can go to different nightclubs and experience the best nightlife there, and it is regarded as an essential itinerary for tourists who go and visit the Great White North.
Situated on the West Coast of Canada, Vancouver is a city that is very energetic and modish, inhabited by people coming from different cultures and languages. It has several amazing coffee shops, cafes and restaurants at every corner. In addition, there is also the mild weather, picturesque views and tall mountains. The city is just right beside coastal shores, which are stunning that it’s not even enough to just glance at them anymore (image by Martin Krzywinski).
Tourists and visitors in Canada can take pleasure in the magnificence and beauty of Calgary. Like other Canadian cities, Calgary is also an outdoorsy-type of city, where people can have plenty of things to do and sights for them to see. It is also a multicultural city, with its residents coming from all types of cultures and races.
