Some of the best safari holidays in Africa are found in Kenya. The country is known to have some of the best natural setting and wildlife in the various national parks found in the country. As you stay in your luxurious lodges in these parks, you can move from one animal park to another as they offer varying experiences as well as different species of animals.

The most popular national parks in Kenya include the Maasai Mara, Amboseli national park and the Samburu reserve. These parks have the reputation of having some of the best safari holiday tours.

Samburu Game Reserve

The Samburu game reserve is located approximately 400 km north of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. This is about a 4 hour long drive. This popular park is known for its amazing and unique attractions. The park features semi dry grasslands with scattered acacia trees and short shrubs. As you go through the park, you can also see many hills rising in the blue horizons as well as rivers snaking through the valleys. There are plenty of rare animals in the park including the reticulated giraffes, broad eared gravy zebras, blue necked Somali ostriches as well as long necked gerenuk antelopes. Amboseli National Park

Located about 240 km from the capital, the Amboseli National Park also borders Tanzania. The main tourist attractions in this park are the view of the Kilimanjaro Mountain and the large herds of elephants. The park is home to over 1200 elephants that can be seen in herds around the swamps as they feed, play or even swim. These swamps get their water from Mt Kilimanjaro which supplies the park with fresh, cool and clean water. The mountain attracts a lot of tourists who come to view the snow covered peak, Kibo.

Maasai Mara

The Maasai Mara is located about 300 km from Nairobi. This is considered to be one of the most exciting places for tourists visiting Africa especially due to the wildebeest migration. The wildebeest migration is known to be one of the wonders of the world which takes place between July and October. During the migration, there are over 3 million zebras and wildebeests that migrating from the Serengeti plains. Tourist come to watch the spectacular view especially when the animals go on a stampede as they cross the Maasai Mara river that is known for crocodiles and raging currents. This park is the most visited place in Kenya. The park also has a record of having the highest concentration of predators as well as highest abundance of wildlife in it area of about 1500 sqkm.
